Rakshak is an International 'Family' organization dedicated to preserving social and family Values, propagation of marital harmony and for preventing Child and Elder abuse in the Indian Community positioned globally. We consider family as the basic unit of society rather than individual men, women or children. We believe laws should be made taken into account the welfare of family as a unit, rather than helping men or women individually.
The organization was founded by a group of concerned citizens positioned globally, comprising of Intellectuals from India 's elite Institutions. The organization seeks to address barriers to justice and equality perpetrated by misuse of Laws, which threatens to erode the value system that India prides on.
The ultimate objective of Rakshak is to strengthen the moral fiber and social fabric of Indians, particularly Indian Americans, through preserving the Institution of Family and the Values therein.
Rakshak volunteers only provide emotional and moral support to aggrieved family members in a matrimonial discord. We at Rakshak do not provide any legal service or do not provide any counselling service. Volunteers provide suggestions only based on their experience, volunteers do not have any professional degree for counselling and they are purely volunteers and spend their time purely to help the distressed families. They are not compensated for their volunteer time in any form.
