The following are the suggestions to make the Domestic Violence Act fair and justified

1. Gender Neutral - The law must be made gender neutral to offer protection to male victims as well. The domestic violence laws in most countries are gender neutral because it is universally recongnized that violence can be committed by both partners

2. Punishment for Misuse - Stringent Punishments and Penalties should be imposed on anyone found to be misusing the provisions in this law.

3. Realistic definition of Domestic Violence - All conflicts in a relationship can not be termed as Domestic Violence. The law needs to be made practical by excluding frivolous definitions of violence.
