Project: How to promote Student Faculty Interaction and Harmony
Duration: May 23, 2011 through July 25, 2011
Institute: IIT Bombay
Year of Study: 5th Year
Internship Feedback:

Rakshak foundation is working towards a very noble goal of addressing pressing issues that impact all of us in every walk of life and the internship experience was good. It gave me the requisite independence and space to work and think. The topic allotted to me was also based on my choice and this was something which really sets this internship program apart from the rest.

Shrey Verma

Project: Far reaching consequences of the Naxalite Problem in India
Duration: May 16, 2011 through July 30, 2011
Institute: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
Year of Study: 4th Year
Internship Feedback:

I thoroughly enjoyed my internship experience. The assistance provided was of high quality and the queries were addressed satisfactorily. My interaction with Mr. Sachin Bansal turned out to be a great source of motivation. My mentor, Professor Janak Pandey also provided critical inputs towards drafting of my White Paper. Certain topics and aspects that i had missed were pointed out, which proved invaluable in the end. I would have liked more interaction on this front, but considering the time constraints of Professor Pandey, it is understandable that it wasn't possible. The internship programme was highly flexible and helped me pace my work in an appropriate fashion. I would have certainly liked talking to Sachin sir more often towards the end of the internship though. Accessibility on this front could have been improved.

Internship was quite encouraging and eye opening for me .Support from my mentor prof. N.K.Sharma was enthusiastic. One thing i found really difficult was that i had difficulty in initiating the project so my suggestion would be to increase the supprt from mentor and time slots to communicate him/her may be increased as per the convenience.

My mentor was very helpful. All my doubts were answered promptly and my mentor was regularly in touch with me to give me guidance and encouragement to complete the project.

Abhijit Verma

Project: Effect of Supermarkets on local shops and economies
Duration: May 16, 2011 through July 22, 2011
Institute: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
Year of Study: 3rd Year
Internship Feedback:

The initial part of internship went on very well, both in terms of support as well as work from my side but later on it became difficult to find sources for a quick, trustworthy information even when I was trying hard, so I had to change my areas of analysis and that might be the reason the project was not very complete in essence. But overall, as far as the research for the project is considered, I must admit it was a very good learning experience.
